We have a new paper our today in Astronomy & Astrophysics! Comparing observations from the Suprathermal Ion Spectrograph (SIS) sensor on Solar Orbiter with measurements from the Ultra-Low Energy Isotope Spectrometer (ULEIS) on the ACE spacecraft has allowed us to investigate how energetic particles associated with corotating interaction regions vary with radial distance. This is the first time we have been able to do this kind of comparisons since the Helios era (1975 - 1985) and are now much better instrumented for this analysis! This allows us to build on the early work investigating these structures and start looking into questions related to ion transport and acceleration. Our paper is only the second Solar Orbiter paper to be published, but is far from the last!
